| Q13. |
How does Taijiquan promote health? |
| A13. |
If practice properly, Taijiquan is a sport for training of
body, energy and mind. Body (jing), energy (qi) and mind
(shen) are the "three
treasures" of human. If any one of these treasures is not in
order, he (or she) becomes sick, leading to physical, functional
or mental illness. In Chinese medical philosophy, health and
illness belong to the same continuum; health is when the three
treasures operate naturally, illness when one or more of them
are out of order. Practicing Taijiquan enhances the
natural operation of body, energy and mind. It had been
proven that it is especially good for people who have chronic
disease such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity etc. |
